The 33 Capsule Wardrobe Challenge

🇮🇹

From HM to OVS you will have often heard the term “Capsule Collection”. Collections, most of the time of high fashion brands serving the economy ones, made up of a few elements that can be easily combined and interchanged.
The idea of the “Capsule Wardrobe” starts from this concept. Its main goal? Free the wardrobe from unnecessary clothing and with a few pieces create a maximum number of combinations and styles.
This can be a good idea for those who want to give themselves to a minimal life, for those who are passionate about decluttering or very simply have decided to optimize their money for shopping.
I decided to test myself and I selected the 33 garments to create my very own “Capsule Wardrobe”.
Find out more about Fashion here.

How do you create a Capsule Wardrobe?

Let’s start with the assumption that all the clothes that make it up will exalt the person who wears them to the maximum. To choose:
colors that go with everything. Suitable for any occasion and season;
fabrics with which you feel most comfortable;
clothes that adapt to your body type (hourglass, pear, apple, and rectangle);
taking into account the life you lead (office, parties, sports, etc…)

The Formula of 33

The Capsule Wardrobe should consist of no more than 33 clothes excluded:
pajamas;
a tracksuit;
lingerie (no more than 6 pieces).
Let’s find out in detail the 33 clothes that will make up the wardrobe.
👚12 Tops
white t-shirt
turtleneck sweater
solid color top with long sleeves (2)
shirts with buttons (two different colors) (2)
hoodies (2)
camisole (2)
tank tops (2)
👗5 Dresses
midi dress
maxi dress
jumpsuit
black dress
jolly dress

🧥5 Outerwear
of jeans
trench coat
of leather
blazer
cardigan
👖6 Bottoms
jeans (black, blue and white) (3)
shorts (2)
skirt (whose color matches most of your tops)
👠5 Shoes
black ankle boots
sneakers
high heels
sandals
flats shoes

Conclusion

Is it possible to live with a “Capsule Wardrobe” made up of only 33 pieces? After my experience I’m told that it’s impossible. This is if the 33 clothes are to be considered for a whole year.
In my opinion, however, it becomes possible if the same are considered relative to the seasons: 33 clothes for winter/autumn and 33 for spring/summer.
Personally, that I only did a few matches for the photos to be attached to the article, I was amazed by some of the outfits that came out.
The advantage is therefore to free up space, but equally save money. All without sacrificing style! Would you be able to create your “33 Capsule Wardrobe”? If yes, try it, publish the result on FB and tag the Magazine page!

  1. I think I have the types of outfits that will pass for a capsule wardrobe. But I don’t think I only have 33 pieces or if I can give up some of them already.

  2. I love the idea of this. I’m not sure I could get myself to do it though. I’m a teacher and have many “teacher outfits” for different seasons, as well as many “spirit wear” shirts from my school. As well as my work out clothes, going out clothes, and hang around clothes. LOL I wish I could though! I would much rather having less options in the morning.

  3. My goal is to someday have a capsule wardrobe, I’m not there yet though! I think I need to do a lot more organizing of my closet first lol!

    Fun post, I enjoyed seeing all of the different outfits! Thanks for sharing 💖

  4. I like this concept but more for traveling or working. I like to combine lots of fabrics and colors but I like to make use of essential pieces always like a black pair of shoes or white sneakers those are Essentials even nude pumps are Essentials.

  5. I love the idea of a capsule wardrobe! So simple! I’m not ready to ditch my whole closest but I usually try to pack for vacation this way!

  6. I’ve heard about a capsule wardrobe before and the idea is definitely quite interesting. I love dresses too much I think to do this, but it is a great reminder to downsize a bit where you can.

  7. I love your concept but I am not sure if I will ever be able to do it for myself. I have way too many clothes that I keep wearing year after year but I shall give this 33 clothes kinda concept a try maybe in one of the domains, like clothes that I wear at home.

  8. I am lovingly of the fabulous outfits pictured on you! You look amazing and I am going to go through my closet now and check and try some things on….maybe even change it up a little 🙂 Thats for the inspiration!

  9. I have been moving more and more towards this concept. I think it’s so smart, in so many different areas. Thanks for the tips and suggestions!

  10. I have wanted to create a capsule wardrobe for some time now. It is such a money saver. Also, it can save so much time when you dress up, as everything goes with everything.

  11. I’m so inspired by capsule wardrobe but usually find them a bit boring for my taste. However your style is so effortless and cool and looks great. Maybe I’ll try again!

  12. 33 pieces would work well for me, because I don’t go anywhere except to the supermarket, drugstore, and the farmer’s market. This guide is a big help when I decide to downsize and ditch those clothes I never wear.

  13. I am super impressed! You have given us a very specific guide to building a capsule wardrobe. Sometimes I get the overwhelming urge to purge my clothing, and I do, but I haven’t gotten it down to 33. Awesome job and cute outfits!

  14. Loving your style and yes to a capsule wardrobe – it makes life more organized and you know your going to have an outfit for every day – I really need to do this when I have more time
