🇬🇧20-21 January: Eclipse of the Super Moon of Blood
This total eclipse of the moon will be the only one of the interior year. Visible to North and South America and parts of Europe and Africa, the eclipse will begin on the night of January 20 and continue until the early hours of the morning of the following day. The Moon will pass in the shadow of the Earth, for which it will acquire the reddish hue from which the name comes: Moon of Blood. This lunar eclipse will be the last for at least 2 years, next appointment: May 26, 2021.
🇬🇧May 6-7: Halley Comet and Meteoric Swarm of Eta Acquaridi
Every spring, when the Earth passes through the debris of Halley’s Comet, the cosmic fragments burn in the atmosphere and produce the annual Meteoric Swarm of the Eta Acquaridi. A wonderful astronomical event that will make the skies shine with the possibility of 60 meteors per hour. The best time to enjoy this show? During the new moon night!
🇬🇧July 2: Total eclipse of the Sun in the skies of South America
This total solar eclipse will transform day into night in parts of South America and will mainly occur on the uninhabited waters of the Pacific Ocean, but will be visible in part in Chile and Argentina. The next total solar eclipse will occur on December 14, 2020.
🇬🇧12-13 August: The night of the Perseids
The meteoric swarm of the Perseids is a fixed appointment that every summer illuminates the sky. This year the peak will be the night of 12 August until the early hours of the morning of the following day. The full moon, however, will put the paw and with its light will interfere in the vision of the same. Without any equipment the swarm will still be visible to the naked eye.
🇬🇧November 11: Mercury passes in front of the Sun
The most particular event of 2019 will be a rare planetary alignment that will be visible on much of the planet. In November, Mercury will pass between the Earth and the Sun and will appear as a small black spot on the surface of our star. To enjoy this show it is important to use an appropriate sunscreen. A very rare event that will be repeated only on November 13, 2032.
